Psalms 5: 7-8

Today’s blog is going to be a little different. What I want you to do is reflect on where you have been in your life and where you are know. Also look at how God has moved in your life. Place comments on where you have been to where you are now. Be a light for those around you. Show them what God has done in your life. Before doing that though. Just read the daily verses and let them sink into your heart.

7 But I, by your great mercy,
will come into your house;
in reverence will I bow down
toward your holy temple.

8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because of my enemies—
make straight your way before me.

Psalms 4: 6-8

6 Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?”
Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.

7 You have filled my heart with greater joy
than when their grain and new wine abound.

8 I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O LORD,
make me dwell in safety.

In these days of murders, abuse, drugs and other things. Where can we turn to, to see good in this cruel and harsh world. When I get caught up in the negative things of this world. I turn to God. He showed the ultimate gift of love, by sending His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus allowed Himself to be hung there for us and show us what the ultimate sacrifice is. But, God does not call us to go get killed for him. He calls us to go and tells others what he has done in our lives. So that is what I am going to do. I am going to tell you my testimony.

I thought I was set, I was a Christian running campus crusade for Christ at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. I was doing devotionals and running Cru (Campus Crusade). But last February I was challenged by God. God showed me that I had been growing stagnant and wasnt pursuing Him with all my heart, strength, soul or mind. Last February when I went to youth group to help it was different then any other youth group. This youth group was being held about revival. The service was excellent. The next night there was another revival service. So I went to the church again. The pastor (Pastor York) used me and some others in a demonstration about Jesus and the twelve disciples. The pastor told me I needed to come back the next day so I could be a disciple again.

At this point I had a choice to make. I could go to the church the next day or I could just continue playing being Christian. God was telling me to get up and move. I always had a hard time listening to God and allowing Him to move in my life. This time I listened to God and I decided to go to the church the next morning. Since then my life has changed a lot.

Last week there was Northern New England Youth Camp 2010. There were 150 teens that every night they would be  at services worshiping and letting the holy spirit fill them up. I have been changed because of the Youth. Seeing 150 teen praying and worshiping for and with each other will change anyone. I now know what it truly means to worship. I have seen a change in the youth too. Some that didnt even go. They heard our stories from camp and they were changed Friday at our normal Youth group service.

My advice to anyone who is running from God is to turn around and He will be there to bring you to where you need to be. It takes us sacrificing ourselves to God for him to work through us.

Watch this video from youtube. It shows us why we struggle with giving God our lives so He can work through us.

Reflect and post your comments. If you want to post how God has changed your life. Please. Remember to make the comments constructive.

Psalms 3:2-5

2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”

3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD;
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

4 To the LORD I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.

5 I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.

Sometimes we feel like we are trapped. We can’t move from where we are. People will tell us we are crazy for believing in God. but, how many times has God helped us and shielded us from the enemy. I can count several times in my life when God delivered me from situations in my life. Some of those times I didnt even have to pray to the Lord. He was just there protecting me. but other times I created the situation I was in so I had to pray to God to deliver me from the situation. Just like David. He needed God to deliver him from the situations he was in. David in verse 4 prayed to God for what he needed. and what David needed was deliverance from his enemy. So God allowed David to lie down and sleep and wake up again the next day. If people were after me and wanting to kill me. I dont know how soundly I would sleep. I believe though that God let David have a peaceful mind while sleeping so that nothing would wake him except for God. If we rely on God and pray to God to deliver us from situations in our lives; I know that God will deliver us from our troubles.

Psalms 2: 7-12

7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

10Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

The Lord has told us that He wants us to ask of Him the things we need. but, He told us that we need to be wise in the decisions that we  make (as the judges). If we want to allow God to move through us and have Him make the decisions of our lives then we need to as it says in verse eleven that we need to serve the Lord with fear (not a fear that binds us) but a fear that He is creator of all and He could take it away at any moment. We also need to rejoice in His name. and not rejoice with a whisper but a shout of praise.

Please comment, but keep it constructive please.

This was from a book that one of my friends at Campus Crusade read from last night. I thought it was a very interesting quote. I want to see what everybody thinks about this. Let me know.

“Every nobody has a dream, and it’s never too late to pursue it! I know you thought your dream died, but a Big Dream never dies. Your Dream is here somewhere waiting for you. And if you dont pursue it, something very important won’t happen.”

2 John 1:3

Discuss this verse.

“Grace, mercy, and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ—the Son of the Father—will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.”

2 John 1:3

I thought that since today was good Friday I would post a verse that pertains to that important event.

“And when I am lifted up on the cross, I will draw everyone to myself.”

John 12:32

God gave his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. Every single one of us. No person is left out of the blood of Christ and the forgiveness that can ensue when you accept God in our lives. God didn’t send his son to condemn the world but to save it. There is nobody left out of the kingdom (heaven) if they ask God into their life.

Discuss the things you are so thankful for and remember those things and cherish those things.
